The test requirements do not change because collection is remote. Repair faults or restore readiness, then run a retest and check the result.

After repairs or a code reset

CARB advises against clearing codes or disconnecting the battery close to testing. The diagnostic system needs operation to complete its checks after a reset. Follow normal operation and manufacturer guidance; do not assume a short idle guarantees readiness.

If the result says Fail

Ask your repair provider to diagnose the reported issue. Keep repair records, then coordinate the next test with your testing provider. A device or new subscription does not repair the engine.

If the result says Not Ready

Tell the provider about recent repairs, battery disconnection or cleared codes. Agree what readiness information needs checking before another submission. Avoid paying for repeated tests without understanding the reason.

Before booking a retest

After the underlying issue is resolved, request a retest through your service portal or support. Prepare the test date, result wording and repair history. The Pricing page defines the service charges; the emissions pass criteria stay the same.
